Camille Pissarro: Hyde Park Londra 1890
Pissarro è sicuramente un esponente dell’impressionismo ma non dimentichiamo che realizzò le sue opere durante la fase calante del movimento. Non uscì infatti del tutto indenne dalle contaminazioni del Neoimpressionismo e, in particolare, della tecnica portata alla ribalta da Seurat, che oggi conosciamo come “Puntinismo”, una esasperazione dell’uso del colore ridotto in moderni pixel, che formano sfumature ancora più incisive. Pissarro realizzo la sua opera “Abitazioni contadine” proprio sfruttando questa moderna tecnica nel 1887, quindi trovo ancora più interessante la realizzazione di Hyde Park Londra che è avvenuta nel 1890 esprimendo quasi un voler ritornare alle origini della tecnica impressionista. Trovo che questo scorcio del celebre parco rappresenti meravigliosamente l’arrivo dell’autunno con una varietà di colori che riempiono il cuore, dei verdi profondi che vanno a morire in un giallo arancio vibrante, regalandoci delle magnifiche ombre. I personaggi della bellissima scena sembra cerchino il sole tra le fronde come a non volersi arrendere alla fine del periodo estivo. Questo naturalmente è quel che vedo io, perché come tutte le opere di questo genere, per ognuno di noi esiste una fantasia, un universo parallelo che ci permette di sognare.
Pissarro is certainly an exponent of Impressionism, but let us not forget that he realized his works during the declining phase of the movement. It did not come out completely unscathed by the contaminations of Neo-Impressionism and in particular the technique brought to the fore by Seurat, which today we know as “Pointillism” an exasperation of the use of reduced color in modern pixels that form even more incisive nuances. Pissarro realizes his work “Peasant Lodgings” exploiting this modern technique in 1887, so I find even more interesting the creation of Hyde Park London which occurred in 1890 expressing almost a desire to return to the origins of impressionist technique. I find that this glimpse of the famous park wonderfully represents the arrival of autumn with a variety of colors that fill the heart, deep greens that go to die in a vibrant orange-yellow, giving us magnificent shadows. The characters of the beautiful scene seem to seek the sun between the leaves as not wanting to give up at the end of the summer. This of course is what I see, because like all the works of this kind, for each of us there is a fantasy, a parallel universe that allows us to dream.
